This was another comission. My friend Andrew Bissel hired me to make this for my friend (his daughter) Kyu.
Did it ever hurt to let this one go. As you can see, I was sure proud of it. I've been having a remarkably (and horribly) difficult time depicting faces lately. I just HAVEN'T been able to capture the image of a person. This one just seemed to work out. It practically Sculpted itself. I guess the extremeties of Alice Cooper's facial expression are what really makes this piece roll. I think it's an excellent Sculpture regardless, but beyond that, it's just SO Alice Cooper.
I used 2 base images when depicting this. Google 'Alice Cooper' and you will see the two. The first is the main image of him standing, holding the bondage whip behind his head, circa the Wayne's World, Feed My Frankenstein era. The facial expression in this image was a little boring, so I decided to mix it with another very famous Photo of Alice's face in close up with a snake slithering below his chin. A rather weird improvisation, but one which I think was very successful. The little bits to this piece aren't very hidden, I quite like the skull and wings belt buckle he's bearing. Pooky and Troy enjoyed a few good seconds awing at that one while I was working on it one morning.
This is round 2 for my New Year's jolt of Sculptures, so get ready for round 3!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KYU!!!
Absolutely awesome! I love Alice Cooper to death, and it looks perfect to me! Exactly like him, especially the face! Love the detail in the outfit as well, great job!

It's no surprise to me I am my own worst enemy, because every now and then I kick the living shit out of me.
Thank you, I'm really glad to hear it from an admitted Alice Cooper fan. I think this piece really sticks out in terms of accurate likenesses.
Thanks a lot!

Not particularly Robert Plant but I've always had the dream to make Sculpting such a dominant part of my life that I want to make virtually EVERY influencial Musician in basic history. Thanks!
