Artist's Comments

Jack and Sally, of Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. Like the Betty Boop, this one is a gift, this time for my best friend Josh. It's a birthday gift, the only problem being it's about two months late. Oh, well. It's been so long it'll seem like a random act of kindness as opposed to a present. Like Betty Boop, it's good because of its simplicity. It came out fairly well, everything seems to be acceptable. My only quam are Sally's fingers. They're discoloured in comparison to her arm. Good thing my camera didn't even pick that up, though. Anyway, here it is. Another gift, for another person I love. Happy Belated Birthday, Josh!

The only other thing that I really noticed is that the legs seem too short, I know burton has a very stylized feeling to his characters and he likes to make the legs excessivly long, whihc works very well for him. Here they seem too short, but being made out of sculptural materials I could see how that would effect it(I think), especially jacks legs. I remember working with clay in a my pottery class and I made a grow, whenver I tried to make long feathers it would get all droopy and wouldn't stay the way I wanted it to. Does this material do the same thing? Especially with Jacks excessivly long and skinny legs?(sorry about this being so lengthy)

Ha! I'm the same, man. Except of course for this season, as I've been so caught up in the KMFDM thing I can barely think! Oh, well. I'll be good for December. It's just more of a Halloween movie. I think so, anyway. Thanks for the fave, by the way!

Don't be sorry! I like long comments, even if they have a few critical points, as yours does. Yes, sculpey/fimo is very hard to make in long, thin structures, but Yes, they should still be longer. It's the only thing I really have against this piece, aside from the aformentioned discolouration of Sally's fingers. Thanks a lot. Remember, don't be afraid to point out my mistakes. I'm harder than that and need to see where to improve.
